I have been hearing so many conflicting rumours about that one over the last few years. Back in 2005-2006ish, it started with a ps3 rumour. In January of this year, there was that wii rumour then the psp one and now the ps3 one comes back.Seriously, I blame Konami, they do a very poor job in PR for those Suikoden games. Suikoden 2 happens to be my favourite rpg, I just wish they treated their own flaship rpg series with more respect.EditQUOTE='Joker13, post: 0theres a Suikoden 6? Wtf i have one and two but never knew they kept going up holy this is some news to me i really missed out on the ps2 gen/quoteThe 3rd and 5th are good, you might want to pass on the 4th one though. German news site GameFront recently posted an interesting story regarding the listing of Suikoden VI for the PSP on a retailer's website. The story has been roughly translated on the NeoGAF forums.
The retailer was in Japan and the entry has been removed - but the rumors live on. Is Konami hard at work on Suikoden VI and moving the series onto the PSP? Or was it a clerical error and should have read PS3? Either way, until Konami makes a statement, we'll have to wait and see if anything comes up at E3 or the Tokyo Game Show. QUOTE='The Hound, post: 0I definitely hope that Suikoden VI will be on the PS3, it wouldn't be right to have 5 connected games between the PS1 and PS2 only to have the 6th end up on a different console altogether./quoteSuikoden IV143 years later then Suikoden V7 years later then Suikoden I3 years later Suikoden II16 years later Suikoden III.I wonder where Suikoden VI will take place.
Tho it would be sad to see Suikoden going to other console as exclusive. Tho some company has broken many rules who knows what this gen game hold up. Btw, where did you get that information from? I've only heard speculation about the time differences in the game, so, if you wouldnt mind telling me if its fact, speculation, or what have you, it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.Hopefully this game comes out to the PS3 and not the PSP. I realize Sony owns the PSP, and that the PSP is getting a lot of love, but the PS3 needs everything it can get.
And so far Suikoden has stuck to Sony's main consoles. Common Konami, we need this game. Please give it to the PS3.-FatesServant. As part of its series of floor show announcements in Japan at the Tokyo Game Show, today announced that a new chapter in its RPG series Suikoden is in development for PlayStation Portable. The game will be titled Genso. The teaser for it released by Konami features anime cutscenes as is common with the series in its most recent incarnations, but it is unknown if the graphics will follow the traditional design style of the PS2 Suikoden games or will use super-deformed graphics ala the Suikoden Tierkreis game released on Nintendo DS in 2008/2009; the battle and gameplay systems were also not detailed, and will be of great interest to see in action since Tierkreis was something of a spin-off (and a polarizing one at that.
The following teaser trailer was released to announce the game, as part of a presentation primarily for the PSP game by Tri-Ace. Konami also set up an official website for. No release date has been set for the game; no developer was named (if this is not an internal Konami production.) Any news of a new Suikoden is good news at this point, seeing as the franchise was considered a dormant or even dead franchise. The series has so far skipped out entirely on the HD platform generation and the Nintendo DS Tierkreis game was considered by many (for good or bad, as the game generally earned good reviews) to be a splinter effort that would take the series away from its core strengths. A bizarre rumor of Suikoden VI as a Wii game popped up for a short time but nothing came of it.
Now, at last, gamers have Suikoden back. And yet, we have to ask, why now as a PSP game? Sure, the system has a great following in Japan, but PlayStation Vita is just around the corner. And even if Tokyo bus riders will still be needing great games for their PSPs for some time until Vita catches on, the slimming market for PSP games outside of Japan has sadly shut the door on a number of major PSP releases in North America.
The fate of a translated release for Final Fantasy: Type-0, Monster Hunter Portable 3, Yakuza: Black Panther and many other huge titles is uncertain at this time; so goes it for the attractive, the PSP game that Konami was piggybacking this Suikoden announcement on. (Perhaps there is a small bit of hope that we will see some Japanese 2011/2012 PSP games show up as PlayStation Network releases or even enhanced 'HD remasterings' to capitalize on the Vita's release?) It is unknown if this new game would be considered a 'major chapter' in the series, but it'd be quite a blow to see a new Suikoden released but not brought out to fans outside of Japan. Start lobbying Konami now for a Vita release (or even a last-game-bang release for good old PSP) and wish on all 108 stars for this game to come your way too. (Credit to Anoop at.
